IPad Won't Send SOME Messages

I bought an IPad at Christmas so it's just a few months old and, yes, I have downloaded the very latest update to the operating system.

And I have ZERO problems sending messages on my iPhone.

But I have recently begun playing with my iPad and am unable to send a message on my IPad to SOME people. I can send one to my good buddy, who has an iPhone, but not my wife, who also has an iPhone. I have gone to my settings and reset EVERYTHING, I have re-powered up (by holding down the sleep and home buttons simultaneously until the Apple logo appears), I have turned the iMessage feature OFF on ALL my Apple devices, then re-activated the feature on one device at a time and I am still unable to send a message to my brother, who DOES NOT have an iPhone and he's the guy I do most of my sending/receiving with.

Anyone got any other suggestions?

Ipad doesn't send SMS text, it can only send an imessage to other Apple devices.

You can send a SMS text to your brother using your iphone if you have one.

I am still unable to send a message to my brother, who DOES NOT have an iPhone

iPads can only send texts via iMessage, which is only available for Apple device. So you cannot text your brother from your iPad. In your wife's case, she may have an iPhone but iMessage may not be enabled.
