Getting msg 'The iPad could not be synced because the connection to the iPad was lost

Just start all over and try again. Quit iTunes on the Mac, reboot the Mac, reset the iPad and try again.

Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.

This worked like a dream when I was trying to download my photos from my computer onto my new iPhone.
