first let's try a careful standalone QT reinstall.

download and save a copy of the QT 7.1 standalone installer to your hard drive. (we'll run the install from there rather than online.) switch off antivirus and antispyware applications prior to the install.

Quicktime 7.1 Installers … get the one that doesn’t mention itunes 6

if that install goes through okay, does your itunes launch properly again?

(if you get an error message on the QT standalone reinstall, let us know what it says. include error message numbers if you're getting any.)

I get the 2095 Error; my Quicktime (59mg) is on my add remove program, but when I try it, I get the message that the Uninstall does not exist or is not valid uninstal log file C:\windows\system32\Quicktime\uninstall.log

Where can I get the uninstall file or how do I completely uninstall my 6.5 Version of Quicktime

I am fairly computer literate, but this I do not understand - why the plugin error, etc. any help would be most appreciated.

Uninstall does not exist or is not valid uninstal log file C:\windows\system32\Quicktime\uninstall.log

Oddly enough, that one responds better to brute force than finesse. (for example, if folks try to use the Windows Installer CleanUp utility with it, typically QT won't show up in CleanUp.)

rather than trying to uninstall QuickTime first, just try a careful standalone QT 7.1 install "over the top" of what you've already got in there.

download and save a copy of the QT 7.1 standalone installer to your hard drive. (we'll run the install from there rather than online.) switch off antivirus and antispyware applications prior to the install.

What do you mean when you say (we'll run the install from there rather than online)?

when you start to download the installer, you'll get a dialog box asking you whether you want to "Run" or "Save" the installer file. here's a link to a screenshot of that dialog box:

"Do you want to run or save this file?"

click "Save". once the installer file has downloaded and saved to your PC, doubleclick the "QuickTimeInstaller.exe" file to start the install.
