Issue saving Podcast Episodes

Hey,

Hoping someone out there can help me out with this issue I'm having. I have never had a problem downloading episodes so that they were saved to my iPhone and then I didn't have to stream them using my cell data. Ever since I updated my podcast last week to 2.1.1 I can download an episode but when I go to pay it, it starts to stream it and isn't actually saved... For example Tiesto Club Life podcast, I downloaded the April 25th cast, it plays fine, but when I go to download let's say today’s, it says " Downloading" (and yes I’m selecting download Episode), shows up in my episodes, but when I hit play it starts streaming it via my wifi or cell network and doesn't actually save to my iPhone... But if I delete April 25th episode, then downloads today’s, it will save it with no streaming required, but then if I go back and download April 25th it does the situation mentioned above but reverse... today’s is saved, try to download a different/prior one, it says downloaded, go to play it and it needs to stream it even though I selected " Download episode" and "save episode".

Please note that April 25 date was just an example date that I used, also the Tiesto podcast is the only one I have been using as of late, so perhaps it is only limited to that podcast, anyone else have the same issue as me with that podcast, or know how to fix this issue?

Thanks All.

Hey there Fifeield84,

It sounds like your Podcasts is not functioning correctly. I use the following article to help troubleshoot the app, named:

iOS: An app you installed unexpectedly quits, stops responding, or won’t open

http://support.apple.com/kb/ts1702

Restart the app

Close the app and open it again.

Restart your device

Turn the device off and on.

Update your device software and your apps

Update your device to the latest version of iOS.

Update your apps:

  1. Open the App Store and tap Updates.
  2. If updates are available, tap Update All.
  3. If asked, enter your Apple ID password. The updates will download and install.

You might need a Wi-Fi connection to update some apps.

Reinstall the app

Remove the app from your device and reinstall it. Remember that deleting an app also deletes its data.

  1. Delete the app.
    User uploaded file
  2. Press the Home button.
  3. Go to the App Store and download the app again.
  4. Wait for the app to download, then open it from the Home screen.

If the download stops, you can resume it.
