time machine and logic require two external drives?

Hello

Is a dedicated external drive best for using Logic? And if I'm backing up to Time Machine, does that require a different drive? So therefore I'd have a Logic external drive and a Time Machine drive? Would Time Machine backup the Logic files then? Or would I use the external drive to store loops and things so I don't overload the disc?

thanks

Pete
