That list of links isn't helping me. I'm having the same issue. The Apple ID and password work at the store, etc, but I get a "unable to login. Check your connection to the server" message. Very frustrating!

On a similar post, found a hint to set auto date and time. I did, and selected a city within my time zone. The pad never stopped "thinking". Then, I shutdown, and restarted. Problem fixed!

1: check internet connection

2: check DATE and try switching it to auto

3: try changing password back to the old one

After much research the solution that worked for me was to change the date &amp; time to "Set Automatically"

Not sure if it will work for everyone but that solved the problem for me. I signed in and it works perfectly now!

AFter spending days with Apple support and being told it was an engineering issue they were working on I simply changed my Apple ID password and both IMessage and FaceTime started working.
