Personnel cloud / home wifi

I am thinking about setting up a personnel cloud along with setting up an in house wifi / music sharing circuit. Can someone explain what I would need and how I would set this up, I am a novice at this type of thing. Thank you in advance.

Hi alanh18,

You can share your music libraries throughout your home using your Wi-Fi connection via Home Sharing. With the purchase of an Apple TV, you can stream any content from your computer, iPhone, iPad or iPod touch to your high definition television as well. The following articles will explain:

Understanding Home Sharing

http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3819

Home Sharing enables you to stream or transfer music, movies, TV shows, apps, and more among up to five authorized computers in your household. To do so, you will need to turn on Home Sharing on each computer using the same Apple ID. Once set up, all the libraries from these computers will show up in the Shared area of iTunes

Apple TV - AirPlay - Play content from iOS devices on Apple TV.

Show off your photos, videos, and more on your HDTV.

You have friends over and you want to share great photos or the perfect party mix that’s on your iPhone. Or you’re in the middle of an epic action movie on your iPad that could use a little more screen. That’s where AirPlay comes in. Just connect your device and Apple TV to the same Wi-Fi network, and the AirPlay icon automatically appears. Then tap the AirPlay icon in a specific app — Photos, Videos, Music, Safari, or any AirPlay-enabled app — and everything streams to your HDTV via your Apple TV. It’s a simple way to play your stuff on the biggest screen and the best sound system in the house.
