Thanks for the question. The following resource may help to troubleshoot bluetooth connections. Please also note that connecting an iPhone to a computer for file transferring via bluetooth is not a compatible configuration.

Thanks for the reply.
I am trying to use AirDrop on my macbook to find my iphone as well and nothing seems to be 'in range'...I thought this had something to do with bluetooth...because that's what iphone needs to perform AirDrop...

You can't use AirDrop on iOS to share with OS X users, and OS X users can't use AirDrop to share with iOS devices.
