802.11 n-draft compatible??

Hi all. This is my first post and im new to macs but i have recently ordered a macbook pro and i have roughly a week to go before its delivered. As i have time to spare i thought i should purchase a wireless modem for when it arrives so i can use the internet straight away. Im starting to think however ive purchased the wrong kind. Ive bought an n-draft modem, and without doing much research im now starting to panic about whether my macbook will be compatible with it. Ive read mixed reports all over the place that n-draft/pre-n is compatible with both b and g wireless but it all seems a bit blurred. I know im not going to get the full benefits as the macbook isnt pre-n, but will i still be able to connect to my wireless network and will it work as it should?? Has anyone got a pre-n/n-draft router and can vouch that its definately compitable?? Id like to know if its worth unpacking from the box! Thanks for your time and i appreciate any help.

My Belkin pre-n has been working great with MBP and my Pismo also using airport express. All are happy together.

hi there,

The macbook will be compitable as the belkin is backwards compatible with 802.11g, the pre-n won't work until apple upgrade there airport cards to work with it, this probably won't be until the 'N' series is fully complete next year, not to worry you but when apple upgrade there cards to work with it, they may not be compitable with your 'draft-n' router you have now
