Did you download and install the iBooks app on the iPad yet?

ffisher004 can't find iBooks on the App store.

I've had my iPad for years and I can't find it either.

When I search for iBooks the screen just comes up blank.

I just upgraded to the latest version last night.

I don't know where you are searching for iBooks and I don't know why you don't have the iBooks app on your iPad. Have you done a spotlight search for it? Swipe left from the first home screen or swipe down from the middle of any home screen to get to the search field. Type in iBooks at the top. If it is hidden in a folder, the name of the folder will be to the right of the app name and you be able to find it there.

Another way that should return it to the home screen, is Settings>General>Reset>Reset home screen layout. That refunds the home screen to what it looked like when you first activated the iPad. It will destroy any folder structure that you have set up on the device, so if you have spent countless hours arranging apps, be forewarned.

As far as I know, iBooks is a preinstalled app and has been so for some time. It should appear in iOS 9 or any update to iOS 9. Quite a while ago, several years, I believe, it was downloadable from the App Store. I just did a search in the U.S. App Store, and it does not show up, but what is odd is, that if I do a Google search and enter "iBooks for iPad" you can see that it shows up in the Apps heading in this search.

If I tap on the link in the Google search, it takes me to the App Store and shows me this. This would lead one to believe that the app is in the App Store, but it does not show up in a search.

You can can not restrict the iBooks app from appearing on the iPad, but you can restrict explicit content from being downloaded. So unfortunately, I can't tell you why you don't have the iBooks app on your iPad.
