file lost after a numbers crash

Hi All,

i was working on the plane on a document. I briefly saw a flag saying numbers cannot save to the cloud or such and then numbers did crash. The file seems to have been totally erased. It is not in the recent document, nor is it on the icloud space or on a hard drive.

As i had been storing datas for 6 months, it is a significant loss. Can i do something to retrieve that file ?

thanks for your help

In Finder hold down the option key and in the menu Go > Library > Mobile Documents > com~apple~Numbers.

With luck your document will be in that folder (where Numbers stores local copies of documents synced with iCloud).

If you use Time Machine you might also try going back in time in that folder to 'Restore' your document.

On last thought. Although you say you stored the document locally it is possible, given that error message you saw before the crash, that you had somehow moved it to iCloud at some point, perhaps inadvertently. One way to check that out, other than going to the Library folder referenced above, is to go to the Numbers for iCloud beta at icloud.com and see if it's listed there.
