iMovie White Screen

Whenever I open iMovie on Mac OSX 10.9.3 on Macbook Pro 15" Retina Display 2013 model all I see is white except the top bar. Here is what I see http://gyazo.com/50eb5961d69f4140f7bc4fe4fe16aca6 I have no idea what the problem is and whenever I open iMovie I have to click on the icon twice when it is on the dock for it to open up and show me nothing but the top bar. I really need to use iMovie for a lot of projects and it would really help if somebody could help. Thanks.

MacBook Pro with Retina display, OS X Mavericks (10.9.3)

Hi,

It looks like you have the iMovie app but either no library or a corrupted library or a library that the app is not connecting to.

Assuming that you are using iMovie 10.x.x, try opening iMovie while holding down the Option and Command keys, and selecting to delete preferences in the box that appears.

If that doesn't work, try closing iMovie and then opening it in a new library by holding down the Option key and selecting a different or newly created library in the box that appears.

Whether you are using iMovie 9 or 10, you might consider updating to current version iMovie 10, and High Sierra, if you have not already done so.
