It can be caused by third party power adapters. If yours is not a genuine Apple power adapter, don't use it. It can damage your Mac, or worse.
Among other things that can cause that behaviour is a failing MacBook Pro battery, which can fail in a manner causing it to exert pressure on the trackpad from underneath. Get that fixed before it becomes a big problem.
If screen sharing is enabled in Sharing Preferences, disable it and determine if the problem goes away: (Apple menu) > System Preferences > Sharing.
