Green circle with check mark / and reseting all settings to default?

There's a green circle with a check mark on my canvas. What does that mean? I don't recal even seeing that there before. Also, is there a way to reset all of FCP's settings back to default so it will be like I had just freshly installed it?

Sorry Shane - didn't mean to duplicate.
Isn't it strange though . . ? When I'd posted, I checked the thread and saw Tom's post, then mine. Yours wasn't there.

Then I get an email notification, your post is clearly two minutes ahead of mine! I wish it would tell you so that you could check and delete if necessary.

Above your CANVAS there is a box with a drop down menu...the right most of the three buttons up there (square symbol). Click on that and select SHOW EXCESS LUMA. That will turn it off.

It is showing you that all your levels fall within broadcast legal. If there was a yellow warning sign, you'd know that something was wrong. Whites too hot, colors too hot, blacks too black.

Use FCP Rescue and hit TRASH to get everything back to default settings. This trashes three FCP prefs.

To trash your preferences . . .

Download FCP Rescue :
http://fcprescue.andersholck.com/

Use it straight away to backup - then trash your Preferences.

If you then need to restore the Prefs, it’s just a click in FCP Rescue instead of having to set them manually again.

FCP Rescue is freeware but there’s provision to make a donation if you wish – (it’s well worth it)

Good luck
