LOGIC PRO X: recording audio without recording EVERY OTHER TRACK TOO...?
I know this must be a bonehead mistake I'm making.
I searched the forum and couldn't find an answer, and searched the manual.
I use Logic Pro X to build my radio show, so I don't very often have a need to multitrack record music. Recently I decided to record some music beds myself and as long as I'm using software/midi instruments all is well. If I use guitar or vocals, I have a nightmare that I can't wake up from.
Basically when I record an audio-type track, it records every other track's audio (anything I can hear) on the same track as well. I can't seem to figure out how to isolate the other audio so I can hear it, but record a "clean" track at the same time.
I've messed with input monitoring and software monitoring and now my settings are a big fat mess and I'm no closer to an answer.
I'm using an Alesis Multimix16 with the following routing buttons: USB to Main, Main to Monitor, and USB to monitor. I've tried every combination (logical or no) without avail. Logic Pro X v 10.0.7
If I'm just being a dope, feel free to thrash me; I'd take a good thrashing to get my heart rate down and finish this project. :-)
Thank you in advance!
your pal,
Steve
