iCloud login troubles

So i changed the password to my applie id and now everytime i open system preferences it takes me to login to icloud and even if i put my new password in the box it just pings and does nothing...

I've tried ending the system process and restarting still comes up and doesn't let me enter my new password it's not that the password is incorrect it's just freezing even when i click sign out it pings doesn't let me do anything same with the spport button
