I have OS X 10.9.3 mini mac. I ran my disk utility to verify disk and I get this message:The volume Macintosh HD was found corrupt and needs to be repaired. Error: This disk need to be repaired using the Recovery HD. Restart your computer holding down the command and R key...but when I try it just restarts my mac it doesn't restart in Recovery HD utility. What should I do?

Try the option key during the startup sound. If you have a recovery hd, this should show you and let you select it.
Is it a wireless keyboard you are using?

If for some reason you don't have a Recovery Drive you can create one on a USB stick.
