iTunes with WD myCloud (NAS)

Before I go completly nuts with this... I have two macs at home and want to have all my music on the NAS so that I can access from either computer. I currently have it setup so both computers can see the SHARE and stream all the music files. The only thing that seems like it's not working is that I can't create playlists from the storage on the network. Is it possible to do this? Also, I assume if I change the iTunes Media Folder to the share that all new purchases will be save on the NAS.

You're going to need to learn the details of how iTunes works. Whenever I see "NAS" and "iTunes" mentioned in a post here I know trouble is on the horizon.

Yes, set preferences to store future additions on the NAS.

I think the server thing is something specific to NAS. You'll have to read the NAS documentation on getting it to work. iTunes doesn't really understand it and the two do not always play well together.
