Ipad frozen, Siri narrates everything but I can't even switch the iPad off. Tried to restore, said I had to turn off 'find my iPad' in the cloud. I did, but it still says this message. Please help!

Hi,

Hope you can help me! My iPad has frozen (again) with Siri narrating everything ('slide to open', 'switch off' etc) but I'm unable to do anything. I can't even turn it off. This has happened many times, and usually I connect to iTunes and restore the iPad from an icloud backup, after turning off 'find my ipad' in the cloud (which I never turn on in the first place).

This time, I've turned off 'find my ipad' but the 'to restore turn off 'find my ipad'' message on iTunes still comes up. So, I can't restore because of this message.

Can anyone help?

Thanks

Sarah

It's not Siri, you've turned on VoiceOver (one of the accessibility features).

Try triple-clicking the home button and see if that turns it off, and if it does you can then change what a triple-click does via Settings > General > Accessibility > Accessibility Shortcut.

If that doesn't turn it off then you can either turn it off directly on the iPad (you need to use a tap-to-select and then double-tap to activate/type process and 3 fingered scrolling) to go into Settings > General > Accessibility and turn VoiceOver 'off', or you can do it by connecting to your computer's iTunes (after typing in your passcode via the tap/double-tap process) : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5018
