Water damaged Iphone stuck in recovery mode

You can keep posting all you want. Doesn't change the fact that your phone is toast.

From another thread, here are some things that could cause that error:

"Possible causes:

1. Your antivirus is blocking access to gs.apple.com.

2. Your phone is jailbroken.

3. Your computer has been used at some time in the past to jaibreak some iOS device (not necessarily the phone with the problem), and its network database was corrupted by the hacking software that was used.

4. Apple's activation servers are down (very rare, and never for more than an hour or so).

For 1. try disabling your antivirus.

For 2. & 3. you need to go somewhere other than an apple forum for help. Although you can try deleting lines containing gs.apple.com from your "hosts" file on your computer."

Buy a new iphone or buy an out of warranty replacement

If you were using third party software to get the phone out of recovery mode, it's entirely possible one or more of those programs is one that could also jailbreak your phone.

You may have to try restoring your phone on another computer to see if that helps any.

The only thing you can do is try restoring it on another computer. If that fails, you can try bringing it to Apple to see if they'll exchange your phone for an Out of Warranty replacement, which is $269+tax for the iPhone 5.

i had the same problem but i fixed my phone. i dropped my phone in soda today and didnt realize it was in there for a lil. i was freaked out so i turned it off immediately. it kept turning on by itself, i dont know why, so i decided i might as well use it. i was experiencing some app crashing so i restarted the phone and the connect to itunes thing happened! i found this thread but no solutions. i was upset about having to get a new phone. i realized this was happening because my home button had already been broken from abuse and the soda was probably making this worse. i got desperate and popped the home button out and the phone restarted completely fine. only problems i have now are the speaker wont work bc it says its on an ipod dock and theres some cosmetic damage to the screen, but it works fine! i know this was over a year ago or whatever but im just posting in case someone else needs this advice.

It's toast. You'll have to bring it to an Apple Store to get it replaced. Cost is $269+tax for the iPhone 5.

Again, it's toast.

My guess is that there's a hardware problem preventing it from connecting to the internet or something similar...
