Can I delete this folder?

I'm trying to create space on my MBP and saw that my User > Documents folder is taking up about 14GB. There are two DVD projects that I created in iMovie, an Arcsoft folder, Microsoft User Data, and a My Albums folder. Can I safely delete these items? It would be great to reclaim the 14 gigs.

If you no longer want your iMovie projects you can delete. However if you use Microsoft Office for email and you delete the Microsoft User Data folder it will delete all your emails.

Look in the Microsoft User Data folder > Office xxxx Identities folder. You might be see multiple Identities. You only need one. Without knowing what version of Office you have installed I can't give you exact instructions on determining which is your default Identity.

OmniDiskSweeper (free) is very useful for finding large files that you can delete or archive to clear up space on your drive.

You can also move iPhoto and iTunes Libraries to an external and set the applications to look at the external drive by holding down the Option key when launching and selecting the new destination.

Of course, with a MBP you won't have all your Music when you don't have drive attached. You can however create a second small library of favorites and switch between libraries.
