Can't update my Logic Pro 9.1.7 to 9.1.8, why?

Hi, i've purchased Logic Pro through the app store in 2012, it is in my purchase history of course, and next to it is an 'update' button. However, i keep getting this message saying 'error, try again' when i click on it. I tried again and again, i still get this error message. Please help?

(I had purchased Logic Pro back when i had an early 2008 Imac 24'' running Leopard. I now have a late 2013 Imac 27'' on OS X Mavericks (10.9.3))

Thank you

Error 13.... Follow these steps exactly to the letter...

Note: This is the updated Mavericks version of the error 13 fix.. Do not use it if running Mountain Lion or earlier... It may not work correctly!

Back up all data.

Triple-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select it:

~/Library/Cookies/com.apple.appstore.cookies

Right-click or control-click the line and select

Services Reveal in Finder (or just Reveal)

from the contextual menu.* A folder should open with an item selected. Quit the application if it's running. Move the selected item to the Trash. Relaunch the application and test.

*If you don't see the contextual menu item, copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. In the Finder, select

Go Go to Folder...

from the menu bar, paste into the box that opens (command-V). You won't see what you pasted because a line break is included. Press return.

(Thanks to Linc Davis for this solution.. I cannot find his original thread but I had kept a local copy of this 'fix')

For 1004.....

You should really always backup your system disk before deleting any system files.. though in this case the risk is minimal but even so...

You do use Time Machine yes? If not, now's the time to start doing so..... or at the very least backing up the system disk itself every so often using SuperDuper! or Carbon Copy Cloner...

I cannot tell you how many times I have read the following..

"I updated/deleted/changed something and now program/driver/hardware X doesn't work correctly"

"Roll back to a previous version using your backups"

"I don't make backups"

"Sorry but in that case... you are, as they say 'up an effulent filled creek without a paddle' in that case. Time to re-install everything from scratch"
