I tried this and of course the hearing aids (Starkey Halo 2 i1600) connect. The problem I have (with iPhone 6s with iOS 10.2) is that Bluetooth disconnects about avery 20 to 50 seconds. It goes off for a couple of seconds then reconnects. The problem with this is that it interferes with any audio coming from iTunes Music, I heart Radio, Facebook, YouTube, and while telephoning. The audio cuts out then comes back most of the time. Sometimes audio goes out completely and I have to re-pair hear aids.
When I turn off "Streaming" to both aids this BT interference stops. But then the hearing aids becomes useless for listening to audio sources including phoning.
My next experiment will be to see if this happens with my wife's iPhone 5s. I'll let you know what happens.
I unpaired my Starkey halo 2 i1600 from my iPhone 6s and paired it with my wife's iPhone 5. It works perfectly with the 5. From this I conclude that the problem is with the iPhone 6s and the way it deals with the hearing aids and bluetooth. I think my next step is to take the 6s to the Genius Bar at the Apple store to see if they can figure out what's wrong.
I think I have found a partial solution to my Starkey Halo 2 i1600 intermittent bluetooth problem.
The problem has been that the interaction between the hearing aids and bluetooth streaming become intermittent. After tinkering with he problem I noticed when audio was streaming to the hearing aids the bluetooth icon would turn off for a second then back on. When listening to music or other audio the sound would be interrupted and sometimes turn off entirely.
My first solution entailed erasing the phone's continents and downloading the backup. This worked for a while then the same thing happened after a day or two. I had turn off streaming or unpair the hearing aids to even use them without interuption
The last time this happened I discovered a new solution (which means I don't have to erase everything and start over including pairing my iWatch).
What I did is as follows:
1. Unpair the hearing aids and open the battery cases.
2. Go to Settings, General, Reset then Reset all settings.
3. Once the iPhone starts back up put in the password for WiFi.
4. Sign into iTunes.
5. Keep Location settings OFF.
6. Go to Settings, Accessibility, Hearing Aids, Close battery cases, then pair them.
The bluetooth connection works without interruption but I expect the same thing will arise within a week and I will do this procedure again. But at least I don't have to erase everything which takes a long time and is a pain.
For now when not streaming music or radio I keep Streaming turned off.
When streaming music I turn location services off.
I'll see if than cures the problem for good.

It seems to me that the problem and your new solution do not make sense. While it might be a temporary fix (although I don't see why these actions would fix anything), you still have the problem which seems to be that something is causing your settings to degrade. This is very much out of the ordinary. So, a couple of questions:
Why are you logging into iTunes?
Do you have other devices utilizing Bluetooth that are close to your iPhone?
Have you spoken to Apple regarding these issues?
I have Halo 2 i2400 devices and an iPhone 7. I see none of these issues.

Dave,
I agree that the real problem has not been solved. But at least I've found a way to reestablish connection and use of my hearing aids for listening to audio. I have not spoken to apple. Do you have any suggestions of where to call? Should I go to the genius bar?
It's almost sounding like an upgrade to iOS broke something. I have seen 'through the air' updates get corrupted. The only remedy is to reinstall the iPhone software - iOS, by doing a wire-connected installation through iTunes. An Apple Specialist can help you decide this. They have ways to verify an install.
HI everyone,
i got sme questions/issues where I wonder whether others have the same.
first off all, when I receive a phone call or hear music on my iPhone and it's connected to my halos, pretty often, not always I hear in between some sharp cracking, clicking noises in my hearing aids. Sometimes only left, sometimes only right, sometimes both sides. Especially when listening to music it is annoying. The hearing aids just have been for a complete checkup, but the noises stay. Has anyone else this issue?
secondly, I do have a watch2 and have the truelink app installed on the watch, however most of the time, I don't get a connection from the watch to the hearing aids so I can't use the watch app to control the hearing aids. Does that work for anyone?
well, the fact that you may answer the call on the watch but then the watch speakers are used and not the iPhone is definitely on Apples side, however it is verz disappointing
In regards to the Truelink app on the iPhone, I think it is not very user-friendly, the documentation is poor in my view I think starker should improve this.
I see all the problems you describe. In my opinion, it would appear the bluetooth radios in the hearing aids have poor interference handling. At one time, I had some $18 bluetooth headsets and I never experienced cracking and clicking noises with these bluetooth headsets.
I agree with the apple watch problems (I have a first version Apple Watch with an iPhone 7plus).
Hi Rachel
I've had a lot of problems with my Halos and iPhone too. I'm thinking it was abig mistake to choose the phone over Starkey's proprietary equipment. I shoulda stuck with that! Two years into the Halos now and many many trips to see my Audiologist for help! Aids returned to Starkey several times. Boo!
THANK YOU, DUFFER!
My iPhone always PAIRED and worked perfectly with my Halos, but the Tru-Link APP couldn't find my aids. So I tried your suggestion, and everything worked PERFECTLY thereafter. The Tru-Link APP now works again!
I had my audiologist pair my Halo 110's, no problem staying connected. I have an iPad Air that I use to interact with them and Trulink app.
I have audio level problems, not enough volume to hear correctly, must be some signal issues.
I also have the Halo i110 RIC aids. My audiologist strongly recommends rebooting the iPhone immediately before pairing (or re-pairing) them. I've had no problems at all with the connection after following his procedure three weeks ago.
His method:
1. If the aids are already paired, you need to unpair them. (Settings > General > Accessibility > Hearing Aids, then tap the listing for your aids and scroll to the bottom and tap "Disconnect this device" and then confirm that choice.)
2. Reboot the iPhone (hold both the power and home buttons down until the screen turns off; this takes about 5 seconds).
3. Turn off your hearing aids.
4. Turn the iPhone back on. Once it reboots, go back the the hearing aid screen in the settings.
5. Turn your aids back on. The iPhone should recognize them and offer to pair them -- you should get one pairing request for each aid.
Hope this helps.
I'm trialing a pair of Stareky Halos. The biggest issue that I have is that I like to use telecoils with my Macbook. Has anyone figured out a work around for the Halos lack of telecoil? Is there a way to pair the bluetooth with the Macs? It seems like quite an oversight not to include the computers in the pairing scheme. I'd sure appreciate any insight that you may have.
Thanks.
A few weeks ago I started my 2nd 45 day trial with the Halo's, the first was with the Linx. Not as bad pairing but I still have to shut down the 5c and start over when I get out of range. Even then sometimes the left will not connect but the right is fine. I'm on day 12 and I'm not impressed so far except for the battery life vs the Linx which is much better.
Why does the bluetooth not connect when coming back into range? I wish someone would answer this basic question. Does "bluetooth" software vary / go bad?
I'm still shutting down 3 - 4 times a day in order to use the Halo app.

Bluetooth connectivity is definitely an issue with the Starkey Halo's and the iPhone. I trailed them and became so frustrated that I decided to try the Oticon Chili BTE instead. HORRIBLE feedback. They are going back to Oticon. I am at the severe/profound level of hearing loss and have worn hearing aids for many years. After using the Oticon, I've decided to go back to the Halo's. That is in spite of the connectivity problems. I've read similar issues regarding all of the new iPhone hearing aids. I think it is something that will need to be worked out over time. Too many jumping on the same bandwagon without enough work on the apps. The reason I've decided to go with the Halos is that the RIC has allowed me to hear things that I've not heard in years. This is, after all, about hearing. I'm happy that the companies are attempting to provide bells and whistles, but I hope they won't forget that we need to hear and be connected to our environment in the best way possible.
As far as your connectivity issues go, I've read about some fixes that I intend to try when I get the Halos back. In no order of importance:
1. Try Duffer's fix mentioned above.
2. Apparently, some have found success in turning the Bluetooth off and back on. This is especially true when leaving the room where the iPhone is located or at night when the iPhone is plugged in.
3. Opening and closing the door on the battery compartment. This forces the Halos to pair with the iPhone.
4. Turn the iPhone's airplane mode off and on again. This also forces pairing.
I have to be optimistic that as time moves on, some of the bugs will be worked out or, more likely, we users will find workarounds. Personally, I am very unhappy that I can't pair the hearing aids with my computer. Notice my question above. I spoke with a Starkey rep this morning regarding the issue. He was knowledgeable and helpful. Color me impressed. He indicated that the Mac computer line doesn't have the hardware needed to pair the hearing aids. So the workaround is earbuds (they don't work for my level of loss), head phones (awkward--I haven't had good success with them in the past), or using the iPad along with the computer for the audio. I will probably try the head phones or iPad solution to see which works best. With the RIC, maybe the head phones will work better than they did in the past when they had to be placed over top of the hearing aids and nearby the mic. Telecoil was a godsend. I'm disappointed that it is going away.
HTHs... Good Luck with your decision. I wish that I could have tried the Resound, but my Audi doesn't carry them. I don't want to go outside my health care provider as I've worked with them for years and trust the Audi.
