dbmtx - thanks for the post. That's good information. Not good news, necessarily, but at least Apple is admitting that there really is a problem there.

I've been reading about the connectivity issues. I have a system for my motorcycle helmet that connects flawlessly. I wonder if the problem may be the BT version installed in the various systems that are having trouble. My helmet has 4.0. I can't find where Starkey even says. Supposedly BT 4.0 is backward compatible, but who knows?

Hi.  Yes, I have been testing it today. At first, it took a while, with some 'forgetting this device' etc., but now has been connected all day.  If I go out of range, it takes a bit longer to re-establish connection when I come back in range (20-30 seconds?), but it does connect. Sometimes, I just turn BT off and on again. No need to forget device, or go through opening Halo battery doors.

At night, I normally go through a set routine - i.e. turn BT off on the phone, then turn aids off when I go to sleep. In the morning, I turn aids on and as soon as I hear the chime, turn BT on on the iPhone 6 from the 'Control Center', and I immediately see 'Mike's Hearing Aids' come up in the Airplay box. I will try this tomorrow morning with the new phone and iOS 8.1.

The Trulink app works and has not crashed, despite me testing it approx 20 times today (i.e. killing app - (swiping up) and opening again). I have not had to delete the Trulink app and reinstall. The volume works, as do the installed programmes and the Trulink Soundspace programmes I have set up myself.

Streams music well, and I've made a couple of phone calls.  I had a problem with my first call, in that the sound was not as good as previously, and the call dropped once.  It may be my imagination, but the BT volume does not seem quite as high, but it's not a massive difference. Again, the music quality seems marginally worse, but this could also be my imagination.

I am very wary about saying this is a FIX, but it is promising at this early stage.  I will keep testing, and report back.

Please ask any questions you may have.

    Cheers

    Mike.

    Thanks Mike.

Can you email me or if you prefer, copy this link to the site where I can sign up as a developer?

    Regards,

This is it, I think :

    https://developer.apple.com/programs/start/standard/

Hope it works, but let me know if it doesn't. I use the basic one, to test devices and software for my business. (I'm not a developer!)

This experience is not with the 6? How large is the download? Encouraging.

Yes, it is with the iPhone 6.  The file you download is about 2gb in size. You then have to restore your phone through iTunes by holding down the 'Alt' key whilst clicking 'Restore phone'. When it has installed the software and firmware, you have the normal choice of setting up as a new phone, or restoring from a backup.

Once out of Beta, you just update in the normal way.

FORGOT TO MENTION! :  Strangely, you still can't record video whilst BT is connected to Halos.  Turn BT off, and video will record.  I'm less bothered by this, but it's still clearly an issue!

So, I have signed up for the developer program, got my confirmation but still don't see where to get the download. Also, Do you know if the restore can use my backup in iCloud?

    Here's the link.

    https://developer.apple.com/devcenter/ios/index.action

Once you've logged in, you will see a tab with iOS 8.1. Beta.  Click on that, then scroll down until you see a list of iPhones.  Click on the one you want to download for, and the file starts downloading.

That's odd.  It's showing on mine.  Is it not under the iOS 8.1 Beta heading?

Random behavior continues. Today the 6 and Halos paired this morning. Phone calls streamed to aids just like they are supposed to do. IPhone 6 with iOS 8.0.2. I did not do anything differently from when it would not send phone calls to the Halos. Random behavior can lead to incorrect analysis.

Awakened this am to 7 iOS updates. Halo seems to work after all updates.  I wish Apple would inform us as I'm on the verge putting the 6 Plus back to them.

I just checked for an update, but it tells me 8.0.2 is the latest update.  Are you getting a developer update?
