Oct 3, 2014 6:04 AM in response to dogsitterby dbmtx,Hello Halo users:
I hope I have good news.
Yesterday, I installed iOS 8.1 beta on my iPhone 6. I tested streaming (none voice) last evening and I'm pleased to report that Bluetooth connectivity is 100% better with this version. This morning, I was able to turn my Halos on and immediately they were connected and TruLink was fully operational without any issue. I just got off a 2 hour phone call that usually would have gone in and out of connectivity. This call was 100% different. Not one time did I lose connectivity! The only issue I have found is that the Halos still phase left-right on occession. I am going to be calling my Audiologist today to have her check with Starkey and see if I have an early model (which I must since I received them on day one of Starkey's release.) If I do, then I will ask for them to be upgraded to the latest firmware.
For those who have more of a concern over videos, you will have to test as this is not a priority for me.
In summary from my testing, iOS 8.1beta is much more stable than 8.0.2. We will see what ultimately is pushed out (hopefully around Oct 20) before we can be conclusive if this has resolved the Bluetooth issues. But today is a much better day for me than yesterday!

Oct 3, 2014 7:06 AM in response to dbmtxby Doopher,Sounds a very similar experience to me!
I'm on my second day with iOS 8.1, and pleased to report Halos connected first time and quickly this morning. Used for several phone calls with colleagues and clients today, with no problems at all. Trulink working as it should do.
Turned phone off and on again a couple of times, and BT connected to the Halos immediately without me having to do anything.
Fingers crossed!

Oct 3, 2014 8:43 AM in response to dogsitterby J. Thomas Sykes, dogsitter - I have ReSound Linx with an iPhone5s. I use the iPhone to record wildlife video with an adapter that I use to hook up to my spotting scope. Using IOS7, whenever I switched the camera on the phone from still to video, the hearing aids default to pickup sound from the phone...but I was still able to record video and clips would be saved to the phone. After updating to IOS8, the sound still defaulted to coming through the phone's speaker to my hearing aids, but all video clips were not being saved to the phone. Only after I manually switch from my hearing aids to phone via the ReSound app (essentially turning off the bluetooth connection between the phone and hearing aids) am I able to save clips to the phone.
I contacted my ReSound regional rep who was able to duplicate the issue. He's passing it along to engineering.
On the iPhone5s I've had no issues using Voice Memes not being saved.

Oct 3, 2014 8:59 AM in response to J. Thomas Sykesby dogsitter,Okay, so you're confirming that it happens with the Linx too.
If you have the hearing aids CONNECTED, and try to use Siri or to record a voice memo, I'll bet you will have the same issue. Tell your ReSound Regional Rep to reference Apple case number, 670172115. This is an iOS 8 specific issue.

Oct 3, 2014 9:31 AM in response to dogsitterby J. Thomas Sykes,Jim - Just tried recording via Siri with both "Take a note" and "Take a memo" commands. Both showed up in Notes without any issue. However, I will pass along the Apple case number referencing issues with Starkey which to me indicates that the common denominator is Apple's bluetooth.

Oct 3, 2014 6:47 PM in response to dbmtxby LanB22,That is very encouraging news. My window of time is shrinking before I have to activate my 6 and return the 5 for credit.
Is there a cost to get the Beta version? Or can anyone register and get it??

Oct 3, 2014 7:21 PM in response to LanB22by SantafeNM,I Sold my 5S because I believe Apple will fix this in a timely fashion. Reports are that the next version of the iOS as members here who have used ithe beta version say does fix the bluetooth connectivity issue. My Apple sources say late October is the current target for its release.
Oddly the current iOS and my 6 have been performing flawlessly the past couple of days. My reward for sticking with the 6.......

Oct 3, 2014 9:18 PM in response to LanB22by Doopher,Lanie, have a look back through the thread, a couple of pages back. I went through the procedure about getting the Beta when dbmtx wanted to know, and gave him some links.
Very encouraging, as you say. My 6 is still going strong onto its third day with no drops at all!
Hope this helps.
Mike.

Oct 4, 2014 9:28 AM in response to dbmtxby Doopher,Yep. Me too. It took slightly longer to connect this morning, but I just waited and it was OK, and has been all day.

Oct 11, 2014 1:10 PM in response to patstarkeyby ricman79,dbmtx and doopher just wondering if things are still working good with the 8.1 beta version. I saw they released the gold beta version this past week. I haven't seen any updates on the thread so I assume all is working well. I am waiting patiently for the update so I can ditch my iPhone 5 completely and just carry around my 6.

Yes, all still working perfectly for me with iPhone 6 and iOS 8.1 beta1. Well over a week now. No problems at all.
Although I have downloaded iOS 8 beta 2, I have not put it on my iPhone 6, as I am slightly wary, because all is perfect with iOS 8.1 beta 1. I have however put it on my old iPhone 5s, and it also works, so all looks encouraging.
Mike.
