Oct 13, 2014 5:57 AM in response to Doopherby dbmtx,Mike,
We are getting mixed results then. I still have three issues:
1. The hand-off feature MUST be disabled on the iPhone 6 as well as any Apple devices that may have it enabled. In my case, my iMac (running Yosemite beta) and my iPad Air (running iOS 8.1 beta.) The Halo devices get very "confused" when they are in the proximity of these devices with Hand-off running. Basically, they lose connectivity.
2. The Halos continue to phase left to right and reverse. I am not sure if this is a Bluetooth issue or a Halo firmware issue but it's annoying.
3. To keep connectivity at peak performance, I have to replace the batteries every two or three days. If I don't, the connection is just not that reliable.
I will say that iOS 8.1 beta seems to correct many issues that I was having with my hearing aids however, I don't think Apple is done yet, or I hope they're not....

Thanks for this feedback. Yes, very different experiences. On my iPhone 6 with iOS 8.1 beta 1 :
1. Hand-off. I have had this switched off from the very beginning and have no intention of turning it on until I am certain everything works (I have no need for it anyway!) I am also running the latest Yosemite beta on my iMac and macbook pro.
2. I have never had an experience with the Halos phasing left/right since my iPhone 6 started working with them
3. My last set of batteries lasted 8 days, with no loss of connectivity, although until the proper fix is made, I normally change them on a Sunday and a Thursday.
4. This morning, I updated to iOS 8.1 beta 2, and all is still OK.
5. Video will still not record when iPhone 6 is connected to Bluetooth, but this is less of an issue for me.
I agree with you. There is still work to be done, but my Halos work so well with my iPhone 6 at the moment, I am beginning to forget about connectivity on a day-to-day basis. Maybe there will be an iOS 8.1 beta 3 released before the public software comes out.
Mike.

Oct 13, 2014 7:08 AM in response to Doopherby ricman79,Thanks to both for your feedback. If nothing else sounds like some progress is being made. Although would be nice if Apple was a little quicker
I did experience the left-right issue with my iPad Air on iOS 8.02 last week but one battery was in dire need of replacement and that seemed to solve the issue.
I wonder if having the hand-off feature on is draining the Halo batteries? Just a thought.
Also, anyone know if Starkey is working on any app/firmware updates at all? Not just related to this iPhone 6 issue but in general. The App is on version 1.05 (released 7/28/13) and the improvements have mainly been language support and minor enhancements or bug fixes. In fact I think this may be the one of the only apps on my phone that has not put out an update since iOS 8 has come out. Seems like they should be constantly updating things especially since this technology is so new. When it's working right it does good, but it's far from perfect and their is plenty of room for improvement. Kind of wish Starkey had a board like this.

Oct 13, 2014 7:33 AM in response to ricman79by dbmtx,I don't have a clue as to how Starkey is supporting/developing their app. I'm sure that someone must be testing changes. I do know that their beta testers are all local to Starkey's office. Actually, I'm more interesting in any firmware updates for the devices themselves. There must be improvements that they are working on. And I agree with you that Starkey should have a forum somewhere especially for the "Made for iPhone" devices.......

Oct 13, 2014 11:29 AM in response to dbmtxby whatevva,From my dealings with Starkey, the LAST thing they want is a board for us to compile problems on. It seems that they much prefer to keep us in the dark, and pretend that we're the only one having these problems. If word got out that there were major issues with the product in general, they would have no sales.

Oct 13, 2014 12:39 PM in response to whatevvaby OldGnome,That's quite an interesting comment. My experience with Starkey support is very different.

Oct 13, 2014 1:00 PM in response to OldGnomeby whatevva,Oh, don't get me wrong...when I need help they are always there, but they always want it t seem like I'm the only one having an issue. I've flat out asked them on occasion, and they said that connection problems are rare. Public image is very important to them, as it would be in any business like this.

Oct 15, 2014 2:43 PM in response to Doopherby LanB22,I know you guys have posted links to get the beta version of iOS 8.1 but I am confused.
Do I have to register and pay for it, or is a free upgrade?
I have to activate my 6 tonight so I can send the 5 back.
If any of you that have the beta version can tell me how to get it, I would appreciate it.
I am not an IT person but I do embrace technology.
on another note, I was out of town for 2 weeks helping one of my kids, the battery in my right aid gave me " low battery" constantly, sometimes within the hour of putting a new one in, sometimes a few hours, never more than a day. While the left aid battery only needed to be changed twice the entire time???

Oct 15, 2014 2:53 PM in response to LanB22by SantafeNM,Apple has scheduled an event for tomorrow @ 10:00 a.m. PST to announce new products including an updated iPad which will run iOS 8.1. I think it is safe to assume a general release very soon if not tomorrow. Personally I avoid beta releases of software for the other problems they can bring.

Oct 15, 2014 3:06 PM in response to LanB22by dbmtx,The cost is $99 to be part of the iOS developers program. It does require more expertise than a general user. At this point, I would recommend you not install 8.1 beta. While I am having better connectivity than 8.0, I am still having issues. I am now starting to believe the issues I'm encountering might be a combination of software and firmware and am trying to pinpoint when I lose connection.

Oct 15, 2014 3:12 PM in response to SantafeNMby dbmtx,NNot sure about 8.2. There is no beta out that I'm aware of.

Oct 15, 2014 3:16 PM in response to dbmtxby SantafeNM,8.2 was my typo that I edited. This site seems to lend itself to typos (at least for me).

Oct 16, 2014 1:31 PM in response to SantafeNMby dbmtx,I truly hope that they have added/changed a lot around Bluetooth from the last 8.1 beta or we're still going to have issues. As of today, Starkey is saying that they haven't had access to 8.1 which I find absolutely unbelievable (as in I don't believe them.)

Oct 16, 2014 1:33 PM in response to dbmtxby dbmtx,From a FB Messenger chat:
Hi, Dave - Apologies for the confusion! We're able to help troubleshoot issues with older iPhones and iOS 8 (the wearer who commented on your thread) but currently, TruLink and Halo are not compatible with iPhone 6 or 6 Plus. Apple is working on a fix in the form of an iOS update. Unfortunately, they don't share iOS update release dates with developers, but we are expecting it to happen in the coming days considering the issue has affected not just Halo, but most devices that connect to the iPhone via bluetooth. We can keep you posted here as soon as we hear more!
