Oct 19, 2014 6:07 PM in response to Parrish Jonesby dogsitter,Well, we can go back a little farther to the fifties. We had some really wonderful music back then. I have 3200 songs in my iTunes music library, mostly from the fifties, and it sure brings me pleasure to listen to them. Maybe we can agree on that.
So tomorrow we MAY have a solution to the Starkey / Bluetooth / iOS 8 issue. I sure am looking forward to finding out.
Then on Wednesday, my iPhone 6 PLUS arrives!

Oct 20, 2014 12:51 AM in response to SantafeNMby Doopher,SantaFe, I don't remember seeing anyone on this thread saying "mine works, so there is no problem". Since using iOS 8.1 betas 1 and 2, I personally have no problems and have not had for over two weeks, but I would certainly not suggest that there are no problems.
I am wary about updating to the public iOS 8.1 until I hear from others on here that things have improved.
Fingers crossed!
Mike.

Oct 20, 2014 3:54 AM in response to Doopherby dbmtx,As I have said in the past, I have the iPhone 6 running iOS 8.1 beta 2 and I still have connectivity issues. One action that does make it somewhat tolerable when on phone calls is to turn off wifi. This, of course, can't be a long-term fix. So, I welcome today's public release of iOS 8.1. It can't be any worse.....

Oct 20, 2014 11:54 AM in response to SantafeNMby dbmtx,Unfortunately, I am still getting disconnected. And as a bonus, I am getting a pop-up stating that my phone is attempting to be connected to another device. All of my other devices have bluetooth turned off. I will say that while I'm connected, it is very robust. One other note; my audiologist called me to inform me that she talked to Starkey today and they are releasing a firmware update for the Halos. Coincidence with 8.1 release? I think not.

Oct 20, 2014 2:48 PM in response to Doopherby dogsitter,I'm on 8.1 now. I had initial trouble PAIRING, but my house if full of RF signals, so I went for a drive, and had no trouble pairing once I was in a "quiet zone." I've since listened to podcasts, and was on an hour long conference call with no problems. I still have a tiny glitchy thing while listening to podcasts, in that I will get a solid stream, but every ten or twenty seconds it will "miss a frame" and each aid will drop out for just a tiny fraction of a second. Not enough to miss a word, but it is noticeable. It wasn't noticeable on the PHONE CALL. Again, this is on an iPhone 5.
I wanted to see if recording VIDEO or VOICE MEMOS would work, and they work AS LONG AS MY HEARING AIDS ARE NOT CONNECTED. Like before, those apps fail when hearing aids are connected. They will work if I turn off Bluetooth OR if I turn off the hearing aids. So it isn't a bluetooth issue, it is an iOS problem of knowing what to do with AUDIO INPUT (to a recording) while the hearing aids are connected. It is AS IF iOS is trying to select the aids for INPUT audio. Of course, the aids won't SEND audio. Apple? Are you listening? Refer to Apple trouble ticket 18411540.

Oct 20, 2014 4:14 PM in response to dogsitterby ricman79,I downloaded 8.1 on my 6. It did disconnect a couple of times when I left my phone at my desk while I went to meetings and I had to go through the reconnection process. I streamed a little netflix during lunch to try it out. Overall it works well so far as long as I keep my phone nearby. I want to point out the Trulink app is working too. That was a big deal before as the app wound freeze up and shut down previously. Overall it's progress as the 6 connects and streams well. I still need to try the normal things like going back and forth between the iPad and iPhone but I got time to try it out. As I said before it's progress. Hope others are having good luck as well.

Oct 20, 2014 4:32 PM in response to ricman79by dbmtx,Better but still not fixed with public iOS 8.1. This is not a simple Bluetooth issue since Apple uses AirPlay to connect to the Halos. And I never heard back from my Audiologists today regarding the supposed firmware update from Starkey. This means they didn't release it as they said they would. Disappointing!

Oct 30, 2014 9:09 AM in response to patstarkeyby Doopher,How are people getting on with the iPhone 6 and iOS 8.1 now that it's been out for a while? Mine is still fine.
Also had a direct Twitter message from Starkey UK saying this :
"Hi Mike, I hope that you are well. With the release of iOS 8.1, the Halo™ is now compatible with iPhone® 6/iPhone 6 Plus."
Cheers
Mike.

Oct 30, 2014 9:32 AM in response to Doopherby LanB22,activated my iphone 6 about 10 days ago. I had sent my aids to starkey because I was going through batteries like crazy. The battery in my right aid rarely lasted longer then a few hours, sometimes I had to change it after 30 minutes. I got the aids back on the 25th, I am still using the same battery I put in 5 days ago. Once I got the halos to pair with the 6 they have worked perfectly.
It did take multiple attemps to get them to pair. Powered phone off and on several times, BT off and on, aids off and on etc. I was about to give up, then I powered the phone off, took the aids out of my ears, powered the phone back on with BT off, opened and closed battery door on the aids, laid the aids next to the phone and turned BT on, lo and behold it asked to pair and they have worked perfectly ever since. The only issue I have is that they don't automatically switch to car mode. Very small inconvience to manually make that switch.
I have not lost connectivity once in the past 5 days. I connect instantly as soon as I turn the aids on every morning. I couldn't be happier.

Oct 30, 2014 10:03 AM in response to patstarkeyby Skeeter7777,my HA still get confused when on a cell call. audio bounces between HA and iPhone while on call.
I can not save a video when HA is paired with iPhone still. A known issue that apparently 8.1 iOS did not fix.
I get 6-7 days life out of batteries.

Oct 30, 2014 10:15 AM in response to Skeeter7777by SantafeNM,Skeeter try going to Accessibility then Call Audio Routing and set it to Headset which forces the phone to first look for a headset to send the phone call signal to.
Except for video recording all works as before now with the 6 and 8.1.
