I'm suspicious of your batteries then.

I agree with dogsitter here. The only trouble I have had in months (iPhone 5S & 5C) was this morning when I had to re-pair. I thought it was quite odd, but then 15 minutes later, I heard that little voice in my head say "battery."

I changed them Saturday when I first had the problem.  It took a few tries

after the battery change.  My batteries usually last about a week and that

is with streaming while I am at the gym for 90 minutes each day.  After my

meeting I will try changing the batteries.

When I first got my iPhone 6 I had a similar problem getting the aids to connect. Nothing really worked correctly. When I set the phone up  I did so by restoring from icloud. so all of my apps and settings were there. I had to forget the device and then try to pair. I had to reboot the phone several times before I even had the option of forgetting the device. I went through all the steps of turning off BT, powering the phone off and on, open/close battery door on aids, turn on BT etc. I was ready to give up, when I took the aids out of my ears, turned off BT. Turned the aids off/on turned on BT and laid the aids right next to the phone lo and behold the phone asked to pair, did so and connected right away. I was in a hotel, maybe there was a lot of "noise" preventing a good connection. Someone posted on here that they had to go for a drive away from all the signals present in their house to connect, which is what made me think that might be my issue, so I thought putting the aids right next to the phone might help. I have not had one issue since then, except when my batteries needed to be replaced. I couldn't connect, the battery meter on the trulink app is not accurate, I had not gotten the low battery message from the aids, but as soon as I replaced the batteries I connected.

I got my aids in early september, there was something wrong with the right aid, I was burning through batteries sometimes multiple times a day, sent them back to starkey, I don't know if they replaced the aid, or fixed it, but not I am getting 6ish days from a battery. If you are going through batteries quickly, you might want to have the aid checked out.  If the quality of sound while streaming is poor or I don't connect right away, replacing the battery fixes that immediately. Someone way back in this thread posted information about microbattery.com they offer a sampler pack for hearing aid batteries. You get a pack from I think 8 different manufacturers so you can see which work best in your aids.

    good luck!

I continue to have an issue that is driving Miss Daisy crazy.......

When I am on a phone call and WiFi is connected, I lose connectivity (bi-directional) not only to my Halos but also the cellular connection.  I see the BT indicator flash and the caller cannot hear me for the 2 seconds or so that this activity is in process.  Then it clears up and the call continues.  The remedy so far is to turn off WiFi.  I can't keep doing this because I usually forget to turn WiFi back on thus burning up my data allotment until I realize that I forgot to restart WiFi.

    Any suggestions?

dbtmx - how strong is the signal when you are on a call where you have WiFi? I have Verizon Wireless and usually saw two or three bars of signal strength and experienced the same problem you are seeing. Mine was only occasional, but after the installation of a network extender, I not only get better reception, but the audio "winking" has ceased.

I was also getting different experiences with different HA batteries.

I am sitting virtually under an AT&T cell site so I get 4 or 5 bars all the time here at home. I believe that Apple is working on some sort of fix for WiFi issues that have been reported not only in iOS 8.1 but also in OS X 10.10.  So, I guess for now, I will have to lose functionality to have functionality...... go figure!

    Thanks

Makes sense. I have had no trouble at all with WiFi on two Mac laptops (MPB Retina and MB Air) and two iPhones (5S and 5C), running 10.10 and 8.1.

I can see the nearest cell tower through my office door and still get a poor signal without the network extender. Go figure, indeed.

I've not contributed to this thread because pretty much everything has been going fine except for two events which suggests something.

    1. I went to se a movie this past week. I ride a motorcycle and cannot wear the HAs on it with helmet. Never ride naked. When I arrive while still at my bike, I insert HAs and turn on. Checked to see if connected. They were. I set them for the theater. When I got into the theater, since I was early I opened iPhone to turn on do not disturb and noticed HAs aren't connected. Nothing would change that.

    2. I went to church yesterday. Get off bike and insert HA's but did not think to check for connection until inside fellowship hall. I checked to change volume and no HA's. Tried all known procedures for reconnecting. Nothing. Leave Fellowship hall and go to sanctuary which is another building and I was probably 100 ft if not farther from the fellowship hall. Opened iPhone and HA's were connected with full functionality.

Go figure that. I have a feeling that there may be environmental issues affecting some connectivity problems. I did disable wifi at both church and theater as there is no need for either.

Parrish - I wonder if the Accessibility Bluetooth is impacted by how hard the phone has to work to get a cellular signal. I usually have a weak signal in church (tested at a couple of different churches over the years) and haven't been to a movie theater in a while.

    Did you try airplane mode?

Parrish, that pretty much matches something that I've noticed.  I have a Wi-Fi access point inside the house, but also have one outside because I have foil backed insulation that completely blocks signals from going through the walls.  At times, I cannot get a connection at home, but if I drive away from my house, I have no trouble.  Bluetooth is on the same frequencies as 2.4 gHz Wi-Fi.  So I'm thinking that if we are in the presence of strong Wi-Fi signals, Bluetooth may become problematic.

Excellent suggestion, but if you turn on AIRPLANE MODE, that will turn Bluetooth off.  HOWEVER, you can RE-ENABLE Bluetooth WHILE in airplane mode.  Refer to Apple's explanation:  iOS: Understanding airplane mode - Apple Support .

To all who are STILL HAVING PAIRING PROBLEMS:

While my Starkeys and iPhone 6 + have been working well (except for having to turn Bluetooth off to record VIDEO or VOICE MEMOS) I decided to dust off my Sennheiser MX 550 Bluetooth headset to use.  But the iPhone 6+ wouldn't "see" this headset.  I tried all the tricks in the book, then found SENNHEISER on another forum.  The posts were back in 2011, relating to the iPhone 4S, BUT the resolution was to temporarily DEACTIVATE SIRI (Settings, General, Siri), THEN PAIR the headphones, and RE-activate Siri.

So I tried that, and that cure still works with iOS 8.1 and iPhone 6+.

So this was an old bug, one that doesn't have an obvious connection, but the bug and the cure are still valid.

So it gives us "one more thing" to try when we have pairing problems.

I started having a problem getting connected again in places I'd had no problem. I finally thought to check my iPad. For some reason it had hijacked my HAs. Being paired with it, they'd not pair with the iPhone. When I forgot them on my iPad, they've worked flawlessly with my iPhone. Don't ask me how my iPad paired without me telling it to.

Parrish, you don't need to "Forget This Device".  All you need to do is to TURN OFF BLUETOOTH on the iPad when you are done using the iPad.  Then your HA's will seek the iPhone (as long as Bluetooth is on).

BTW: if I'm using my iPad and a phone call comes in on the iPhone, the iPad will ring and offer me the call there instead of on the iPhone directly.  This is part of the "Continuity" feature of iOS 8.  With Continuity, when my phone rings, I hear the iPhone AND iPad AND iMac all ringing at the same time.  My choice as to where to pick the call up from.

I should restate that "pairing" and "connecting" are different.  Pairing is simply REGISTERING "I know you" devices.  CONNECTING is what your issue is.  You can be paired with up to 8 devices, just connect to the one you want.

    Jim
