What's YOUR longest wait for tech support?

It's now 6:58 PM; I've been on hold since 5:25, a little over an hour and a half. I've been doing other things while waiting, of course, but I'm beginning to wonder if I might have the record for the longest "on hold" status. Have to ask myself what's up with Apple service? I've been a dedicated Macuser for 20+ years; still am...I think.

How long have you been placed on hold before speaking with a rep? No exagerations, please.

7:04 Wow, I've been bumped from the dugout to the deck (still no live person, but if you've been in the holding pattern with Apple lately you know what I mean by the dugout--the outside perimeter of the wait--and the deck), waiting for my chance at bat.

Hello my friend,
Of course it varies, based on several factors. If your problem is recent, please consider that Apple may be backlogged from the holiday weekend.

Thanks, DD, for the words of solace. 7:25 now, two hours. At least here on the deck the music is nicer, imo, and the woman's voice is a pleasant one.

I should add that I'm actually on hold to find out about status of a "lost" computer, report filed by Apple on August 25th, sent in for re-repair on the 21st. Been getting re-acquainted with my old Quicksilver lately.

I probably would have hung by now, but the recorded voice has assured me that they "appreciate my patience" and that my "call is important" to them.

Hi Paul,

Sorry to hear about your ridiculous wait, and hope you can get your issue resolved.

My longest phone wait was somewhere between 35-40 minutes. This happened about two weeks ago. Incidentally, it was the only time I've ever called Apple Tech Support; typically I take my machine into the local Genius Bar.

Thanks, Brian. I finally got through at 8:02 (over 2.5 hours). Only because I had put the phone on speaker and went about my business did I hold that long...also out of curiosity. I know Apple is busy at time, but truly my average wait time in recent weeks has jumped to over 30 minutes at least. Anyway, the answer to my question was not worth the wait (the rep in charge of my case will get back to me). Oh well. Thanks for listening, case closed (game over).
