How do I make the vertical ruler appear in Pages?

Open Pages, click "Pages" by the Apple in the top left of your screen -> Preferences, click the "Rulers" tab at the top of the preferences screen, and place a check mark in "Enable vertical ruler for documents with body text."

Have tried setting Rulers in preferences, but they still will not appear. Any solutions, please?

Try Command-R or View > Show Ruler.

Now I feel embarrassed! I didn't think to look in view. I thought preferences were the only likely place.

You want to see something look under View.

The menus usually mean what they say.
