Q: Why is my latest model iPad Mini and Apple TV not Airplay(ing)?

iPad Mini Retina – latest OS, First Gen Apple TV (software up to date), reset modem (more times than you could count) and all I get is the spinning icon ON THE TV when attempting to connect via Airplay.

It has worked until probably 4 or 5 days ago.

All other iPad to wireless devices (bluetooth, Smart TV's, etc.) working fine.

Apple TV, not so much.

What is happenning?

OK, well maybe it's a second gen Apple TV. They all kinda look the same, you know what I mean, Rudegar? My point is that Airplay has worked on the thing for a year until now.

Shall we go back to trying to make me (the consumer) sound stupid?

    It worked, then it didn't.

    Period.

If it's the big aluminum one with hard drive, that's first gen. Little black box will be 2nd (or 3rd) gen.

If it is a second gen, with airplay, connectivity issues are going to be network related.

If on wifi try ethernet. Make sure router is up to date. Reboot both ATV and router.

Go to istumbler (Mac) or netstumbler (PC) to get a report of the network, look for signal strength.

No, they all do not really look the same.

How do you have no clue what model you have?

Either it's a big aluminum box which is the 1st gen or it's a small black box which is 2nd or 3rd gen.
