Q: I have upgraded to Iphone 5s but Itunes will not sync and freeze

Hello,

I am trying to sync my music with a new iPhone 5s but Itunes keeps freezing. I am using iOS 7.1.1 on my phone and I have a MacBook Pro 13 Inch, 2010 and

OS X 10.9.3 (13D65). Initially I restored my phone from iCloud but none of my other music (from CDs) have been transfered because I cannot SYNC!!! Does anyone have any suggestions?!

Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:

☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)

☞ In the Finder, select Go Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.

☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Console in the icon grid.

The title of the Console window should be All Messages. If it isn't, select

    SYSTEM LOG QUERIES All Messages

from the log list on the left. If you don't see that list, select

    View Show Log List

from the menu bar at the top of the screen.

Click the Clear Display icon in the toolbar. Then try the action that you're having trouble with again. Select any messages that appear in the Console window. Copy them to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. Paste into a reply to this message by pressing command-V.

☞ The log contains a vast amount of information, almost all of which is irrelevant to solving any particular problem. When posting a log extract, be selective. A few dozen lines are almost always more than enough.

Please don't indiscriminately dump thousands of lines from the log into this discussion.

Please don't post screenshots of log messages—post the text.

☞ Some private information, such as your name, may appear in the log. Anonymize before posting.

    Hi Linc Davis,

Thanks for getting back to me. I just want to state that I've already tried the Apple Troubleshooting Page on "iTunes stops responding when conntecting iPod iPad iPhone". As requested I've taken a few lines from the console. I hope it'll give you enough info and thank you so much for your help:

On another note, iTunes will recognise my iPhone on another user account. I've tried to rebuild the iTunes library but again...nothing.

You may be connecting an Apple mobile device using a USB cable that is either faulty or incompatible. Try another cable and disconnect all other USB devices. The device itself, the USB port on the Mac, or another device on the bus could also be at fault.

    Hi Linc,

Thank you for spending time on this. I am able to sync with iTunes from a different user account on my Mac. So I wasn't sure that there was anything wrong with the hardware. Eventually, I plugged in the new USB cable and attached it with my iPhone 5s. I opened iTunes and it began to stop responding - so I left it as it was for about half an hour. Amazingly it recgonised the device and began to sync my songs!!! It took about 1 1/2 hours. Now I just leave it to do its for 15 minutes and it begins to respond.

But thanks for your help and for your time.

    Regards,

I am having the same issues.  All of my cables are apple products and in fine working order.  iTunes 11.2.2 freezes every time I attempt to sync my iPhone 5s 7.1.1.  Here is what my messages say.

Any help would be greatly apprectiated.
