Can't eject shuffle as files in use by another application?

I am trying to eject my ipod shuffle but I'm unable to as I get an error message advising files in use in another application

How do I find these files and close/resolve

Also the status light is blinking orange

iPod shuffle, 4th gen

If you are using a Mac, you can Force Quit all open applications to close any that may be accessing your shuffle:
