can I convert an existing playlist to mp3, then burn or do I have to go back to each after... . and how can I look at just files that are mp3...? should I convert my whole library?

What are you trying to accomplish by cnverting?
You want to burn MP3 CD?
Are you really running Mac OS X 10.7.1?
If so, you should Apple menu > Software Update.
