How to Delete Corrupt Files

Hello,

I am having problems removing corrupt files from my system. I have tried to use different applications and terminal but no matter what I do they just won't budge. I have tried to take it into an apple store and use their support chats (which I apparently am not allowed to use) and there are no appointments available either in store. Can anyone suggest a way for me to delete them or provide any assistance.

If you require me to post pictures or error messages I'm happy to do so.

Thank you

MacBook Pro, iOS 4.3.2

Thanks for responding so fast 🙂

I've posted the image below of the items I am trying to get rid of - they are all corrupt somehow but I posted this because the obvious one is trash it - as it has the big obvious cross through it.

The picture below is what makes me think the files are corrupt and this is the error message I am getting when trying to open te file...

When I try to empty the trash can, it never empties and I have to use finder to force quit it otherwise it would be going all day.

I appreciate any suggestions on how to get rid of them - obviously the application "Trash It" didn't exactly do wonders for me as it was ruined before I even got to attempt to use it. I have about 4 corrupt files and trash it is now one of them as something went wrong in my desperate download of it.

The symbol with circle with slash indicates it does not run on the current version OS X installed. Most likely you got the version that requires a newer version of OS X.

Resources folder is found in Applications and it's strange that it is actually showing up in the Trash.

I'm assuming the trash and crap folders are custom folders you created.

Log out under the Apple in the Menu bar.

Log in holding down the Shift key.

Now try to empty trash.

If they fail to trash, do a Get Info on the item and see if they are locked.

Still fail to trash...

Restart in Safe Boot mode.

* shutdown

* start the Mac and *wait* for the startup chime to sound

* after the sound, press and hold down the shift key

* keep holding and *wait* until the grey  Apple logo appears

* now release the shift key and just wait (it could take a few minutes)

* eventually the login screen appears with the words SAFE BOOT

* log in and see if trash empties

If no, download and run the Lion combo updater to refresh your files.

OS X Lion Update 10.7.5 (Client Combo) 1.91 GB
