I deleted these apps from my MacBook Air because I am trying to save the space. I already have MS Office so I don't need these. I deleted them and as soon as I logged on again it wants to download them again. How do I delete them permanently?

Interesting, so you see hide but don't have the Debug menu on. All the sites I've looked at seem to indicate this was changed in Mavericks. Oh well another of the strange Maverick ghosts.

Yep, that option has always been in the App Store to replace the Ignore option we always had in Software Update. As of now I am running Mavericks.

I'm afraid I don;t follow that you are saying here.
As I wrote all sites I have looked at for this indicate that without turning on the Debug menu it is not possible to stop the update alerts.
Anyway we'll see what happens when the OP try's the commands to turn on the Debug menu.
I followed the directions mostly. They say "CTRL-click". I do not have a CTRL key. I tried Control, Command and Option. None allow me to select anything or choose anything on the Updates page.
Just to be clear, after you ran the defaults write command in the terminal the Debug menu appeared in the App Store app?
What keyboard are you using? All computer keyboards I have ever seen have a control key. On the Apple wireless Kb
the control key is at the bottom left as shown above.
Yes, I have a "Control" key, just no CTRL key. I tried "Control-click" both left and right. Does not do anything. I am trying to click anywhere on the Upgrade page over the applications I am trying to hide.
And yes, the Debug menu item appears on the App Store menu bar now.
CTRL is an abbreviation of Control.
Hmm, this is weird. To test I installed an old version of some software and turned on the Debug menu, control clicking on the More link gave me the hide update selection
But now even if I turn off the Debug menu the oprion still exists
Are you sure you have the pointer over then More link?

Yes, I am hovering over the More link. When I control-click it just does what it always does. Shows me the whole description. Right-click does nothing with or without Control. Also tried option and command keys.
As I look at your pictures, I see you are clicking on the "More" link in the section entiteld "Software Updates Available." I am trying to click on the individual updates for individual software. Maybe that is the problem. I do not have a message that says "Software Updates Available". I may have before, but it does not show now.

Sorry I don;t follow that. Could you post a screen shot of where you are trying this?
If the App Store does not have a section Updates Availably then it would seem that for now you do not have any updates. IS that not the case?

Possible, unfortunately forcing an out-of-date app is more difficult then forcing the out-of-date Raw Camera Bundle.
I have no easy way to test that, sorry.
