Jun 2, 2014 8:29 AM in response to Ingo2711by VRBUK,Yes I've already done all this - Telstra says online that is unlocked, I've restored and nothing is different. Any other ideas?

Jun 2, 2014 9:14 AM in response to VRBUKby KiltedTim,Talk to Telstra. They apparently have not yet communicated this to Apple, who maintains the locked/unlocked database. Until they do, and you restore the phone using iTunes as detailed in the article Ingo linked to, then the unlock is not complete.

Jun 3, 2014 4:26 AM in response to Ingo2711by VRBUK,I've restored the phone but still won't work. I'm now in touch with Telstra who told me the same but I don't understand why I need to wait 72hrs if the phone is never locked in the first place? The crowd support on Telstra us is telling me iphobe5 in Australia might not be 'same frequency' as uk sims????

Jun 3, 2014 4:51 AM in response to VRBUKby wegras,★HelpfulAn Australian iPhone 5 ,once unlocked ,will work fine in UK on 3G on any UK Carrier and might just work on 4G on the UK EE network .

Jun 3, 2014 8:48 AM in response to VRBUKby VRBUK,OK all solved. Despite Telstra saying they issue all iphone 5 phones unlocked, you still need to contact them to get it unlocked... go figure. Once they have done this, which is immediate, despite the website saying it takes 72 hours, all you do is sync and you are in.
Thanks for everyones help
