Hello !
I just bought iPads for my business. I want to use it with stands and i'm looking for a way to recharge it. I bought a 5m extended usb cable, plugged it and the ipad made a sound like if it was recharging but then, it says, "not charging" !
How can i charge it ? Any ideas ? It seems that this 5m cable is useless...

Easiest solution is a standard extension cord.
What do you mean exactly ? The extended usb 2.0 cable i bought is supposed to be one...when i use a smaller one (like 20cm instead of 5m) it works. Could it be because of the length ?
James means a Power extension cord, rather than a USB extension cord.
A Cable you can plug into the wall outlet to which in turn you can plug in the Apple Charger.

But the thing is that i'm going to use it on a stand. The Apple charger doesn't go inside the tube of the stand so i need an usb extension...
I tried with my phone (Nexus 4), it worked !
Here is a plan as yours of what i need :
iPad-----Lightning/USB inside the tube------------Extended USB cable----------Apple charger-------(eventually a classic electrical cord extension if i need it longer)---------Wall.
Is the tube really 5m long? Perhaps a shorter USB extension would work. I use a 1m extension usb cord with gold plated connectors and it works just fine with my iPad.
Electricity tends to loose power as it travels. 5m is quite a distance and the USB cable may not be able to handle it, by the time it reaches the iPads its too low to proeprly charge them.
usb is spc'd to be maximum 5 m between each powered hub or device and only 5 powered hubs in a row I believe
Can i use an extented usb cable to recharge my ipad ?
