Moving iTunes PlayCache from C:/ to D:/ drive

Hi,

I am using Windows 8.1 and iTunes 11.2.2.3. I am also iTunes Match subscriber. In my PC I have two internal drives: C and D. C is SSD, and is mainly for apps/Windows.

Since my initial installation of iTunes I made D as my iTunes folder:

User uploaded file

If I add music to iTunes (or download from iTunes Match), it is being added to the D drive.

However, when I am just listening to music from iTunes Match, the cache is storing on C drive:

User uploaded file

Is there any way to make iTunes store cache on D drive?

Thanks!

Roman.

Just posting my solution here for others who might be experienceing this.

1. Go to C:\Users\[user]\AppData\Local\Apple Computer\iTunes\PlayCache

and delete this "PlayCache" folder.

2. Navigate to a place on another drive where you want iTunes cache to be stored (in my case it is "D:\Music\PlayCache"

3. Create a folder there (for example, "PlayCache")

3. Launch CMD with Administrator permissions (right-click -> Run as Administrator)

4. In CMD type:

mklink /J "C:\Users\[user]\AppData\Local\Apple Computer\iTunes\PlayCache" "D:\Music\PlayCache"

5. In CMD you should see something like this:

Junction created for C:\Users\[user]\AppData\Local\Apple Computer\iTunes\PlayCache <<==>> D:\Music\PlayCache

6. Launch iTunes and play something from the cloud. Navigate to a PlayCache folder on another drive and check if some new folder are created. If they are, that means that the junction is working correctly.
