Been trying to update my version of safari (7.0.3) but does not seem to work. I have no extension installed.
I get notified that "Some updates have not been installed" from Software updates, it tells me that i need to update safari to 7.0.4, when i go to do it, it seems like its doin its thing and updating but it does not. I've tried restarting my MBP after the "upd
MacBook Pro (13-inch Mid 2009), OS X Mavericks (10.9.3), 8GB DDR3, 500GB HDD
Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Console in the icon grid.
Select
/var/log ▹ install.log
from the log list on the left. If you don't see that list, select
View ▹ Show Log List
from the menu bar at the top of the screen.
The contents of the log will appear on the right. Each log message begins with a timestamp. Select the messages from the time of the last installation or update attempt. If you're not sure when that was, click the Clear Display button in the toolbar of the Console window and then try the installation again. Select the new messages that appear.
Copy the messages to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. Paste into a reply to this message (command-V).
If there are runs of repeated messages, post only one example of each. Don’t post many repetitions of the same message.
When posting a log extract, be selective. Don't post more than is requested.

This looks like a server issue. Other such issues have been reported lately. I suggest you try again in a few hours.
Ok, that may be the problem. However I've been expereicning this issue with other apps the past few months.
Getting notified for updates, "updating them" but then to be notified again that the apps need to updated again, because they never did so. They have not been major apps, so I did not care about them. I've reinstalled the OS and it still occurs.
I'm having this exact same issue down to the same log files. I've been having it for over a year.

You might want to consider starting a new discussion. Since this one is a couple of years old, less people are likely to look at it. A new post would be much more visible. You can link to this one.
Try updating in the Safe Mode or another admin account.
