ATI 1900 performance?

Mine arrived today with the X1900XT and it is amazing!

I knew it would be wirth the wait and I am not in the least disspointed.

If you drop me an email at cld_fire@comcast.net I will get you some benchmark results in the next day or so on the games I play. (WoW, Unreal Tournement 2004, Quake 4, SecondLife, etc.) Anyones I can get to give me a FPS counter that is.

I'm very curious if you can get Second Life to run under Mac OS X without incident. Do you have more than 2GB of RAM?

I have a question about the X1900XT card. If you go into System Preferences under Displays, do you have an option to rotate your image?

I won't be running Windows Benches as I hate windows. These will be OSX ones.

About Secondlife, I get 60 - 80 FPS even in a crowded club it wont drop lower then 50 and that is at 1680x1050. I have 2Gb of RAM.

I'll do some benchmarking today and post it to the tread.

Well here is one bummer.

WoW is VSync locked and I can't figure out how to unluck the V-Sync.

But I can say this, while playing I had is set to 4X Anti Aliasing, and the slider set to high on the Anso Filtering, at 1680x1050 rez and it never droped below 58FPS.

If you keep playing SL, I believe you will start to see momentarily 10-15 second "freezes" that make the game useless. I got that too while playing in 2GB mode. That's what I saw on the SL forums from a few users....

Try running in anything over 2GB and forget it though.

The 3DMark06 [note 06] scores I have seen on other forums in XP via BootCamp are amazing. They are up there with the highest scores.. over 6100.

I see thoes momentary freezes on my MacBook Pro but I do not see them on my Mac Pro. I was in SL four about 3 hours today and didn't encounter even one of thoes freezes.

That's -very- interesting. This means that the freezes and pauses people are seeing with the 7300GT cards (universally, I might add) are directly related to... the 7300GT.

Or the Mac OS build? Can you check to see what your build is? Word is there is a newer build shipping than what most of us got initially (which was 8K1079).

I have low hopes for anyone over 2GB of RAM, however, due to the problems with PAE. I'm definitely looking forward to testing more.

I saw your post about the OS Builds and I think it might be that causing issues.

My Mac Pro is Build 8K1124, which as you mentioned is the newer build.
