Jun 22, 2014 3:01 PM in response to SomewhereInOmahaby ITandBourbon,I had this issue after a warranty replacement of my phone.
- OSX 10.8.5
- iTunes 11.2.2
- Restored new phone from Backup of old phone
- Deselected "Sync Movies"
- "Over capacity!" warning appears
I resolved it by unchecking "Sync with this iPhone over Wi-Fi" and syncing the change. Immediately, the "over capacity" issue was sorted. Then I simply turned my option to sync over wi-fi back on.
I suspect the resolution is to do something that makes iTunes sit down and have a think about how it talks to the phone, or, some significant percentage of its capacity (to wit, the response of: iOS: "Not enough free space" alert when trying to sync from Brett L, above.
Your Mileage May Vary.
