Q: iTunes movie rental won't play on Apple display

Very simple: my iTunes movie can play on my macbook but once I drag it over to the Apple display the movie stops playing. Sometimes a message pops up indicating some protection deal but it doesn't make sense why it won't play. Please help.

MacBook (13-inch Early 2008), Mac OS X (10.7.4)

It's HDCP.

Older displays don't support HDCP.  Rental movies require HDCP on external displays (if the Mac is new enough to support HDCP).
