Where are effects located?

I tried to install an update to FilmConvert and now FCPX freezes every time (after a series of alerts re FilmConvert failing to "init global state data" and "failing to parse camera list"). Considering uninstalling the plugin, but the directions they give involve deleting the following files:

</Library/Plug-Ins/FxPlug/FcFxPlugPro.fxplug>

</Library/Application Support/Final Cut Pro/Templates.localized/Effects.localized/Film Emulation>

After opening the Library, I cannot find either of these files. I can't even find the "Plug-Ins" folder or the "Templates.localized" folder.

Can someone tell me what I'm doing wrong?

MacBook Pro with Retina display, OS X Mavericks (10.9.1), 2.8 GHz i7, 16GB, FCPX 10.1.1
