How do I get Microsoft Flight Simulator on the mac without downloading windows?
I just wanted to know how to open FSX on a mac without using bootcamp or downloading windows.
iMac (21.5-inch, Late 2012), OS X Mavericks (10.9.3)

t's designed for Windows based computers.
The Windows operating system cannot be downloaded. To use with BootCamp, you would have to purchase a retail disc.
Alternatives ...
Run Windows on Mac -Parallels Desktop 8 for Mac - Parallels
Or VMware. Both are costly to just run one Windows based app.
Virtualbox is free, and I'm unsure how much better it would work:

A favorite Mac OS X compatible flight simulator similar to Microsoft's is X-Plane:

Not sure if it will work with 10.9, though http://roaringapps.com/app/xplane does have it working on 10.8 and 10.7.
Just an FYI,
There was a Microsoft Flight Simulator that ran on Mac OS 7.6 back in 1997. Too bad we don't have Classic anymore unless you have a G5 or earlier Mac. It might work in that environment, then again might not.
