Why won't my Ipod sync/connect?

Hey,

So I'm having issues with preparing my ipod to restore it. It recently went into recovery mode and I plugged it in today to restore it and after plugging it in (and iTunes being really slow) this message keeps appearing: itunes was unable to load data class info from sync services. reconnect or try again later. I have only just installed the new itunes earlier today and wondering if anyone can help please on how to resolve my issue! Getting stressed.
