Jun 7, 2014 4:57 AM in response to Janegaltby tbirdvet,★HelpfulOne of two things (I have had both).
1. Got some condensation/dust inder the screen.. In this case get two suction cups and remove the glass screen as it is only held down by some magnets. Once removed clean.
2. You have a bad LCD screen and needs to be replaced. I had this once and for me it was covered under my Apple care warranty.

Jun 7, 2014 7:04 AM in response to tbirdvetby Janegalt,Thanks! I had no idea it was only held on by suction cups...
The time you had to have it replaced - any idea of what it would cost if you didn't have Apple Care? (I don't)

Jun 8, 2014 3:35 AM in response to Janegaltby tbirdvet,It was just under $400.00. Not cheap. However, I would do a Google search for that part. You may be able to get on your own. Not difficult to change if you look at iFixit Web site.

Jun 13, 2014 6:44 AM in response to MDCarpenterby tbirdvet,I had a similar issue on my 2008 iMac. They had to change the LCD screen but I was still under Apple Care extended warranty.

Oct 2, 2015 10:57 AM in response to MDCarpenterby Steve_Dave,So I have the EXACT same thing!!! Yours is far worse than mine. I'll be sure to update the thread when I have mine looked into as well. $400 for a display I've used every day for 8-10 hours a day for 2-3 years really isn't that bad. As long as I get another 3 more.

Did you have your display looked at? Could you let us know what your issue was?
Thank you,
