    Hey there Rajjejosefsson,

It sounds like you are unable to wake your computer from sleep correctly, as the screen stays black, but does show a mouse cursor. I would use these troubleshooting steps from the bottom of the following article, to resolve the issue:

OS X: When your Mac doesn't sleep or wake

    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS5357

    Reset SMC

The System Management Controller (SMC) is involved in managing power on your computer. Reset the SMC on your Mac if you are having difficulty sleeping or waking your computer.

    Reset NVRAM/PRAM

Nonvolatile RAM (NVRAM)/Parameter RAM (PRAM) stores some power-related settings.Try resetting NVRAM/PRAM if you are having difficulty sleeping or waking your computer.

    Test with external devices disconnected

Some external devices can prevent your computer from sleeping. Try disconnecting items other than your Apple keyboard or mouse from the built-in USB, Thunderbolt and Firewire ports on your Mac. If this resolves the issue, try reconnecting your external devices one at a time until you find the device preventing sleep or wake. Check the documentation that came with the device, or contact the device manufacturer for more information.

    Try Safe Mode

Check to see if the issue still occurs when the computer is started in Safe Mode. If this resolves the issue, it could be related to a third party software item such as:

    Try another user account

Try creating another user account, or log in as guest. See if your computer sleeps and wakes properly from the additional user account. If it does, your issue may be related to one of the following:

You can disable login items from the Accounts pane of System Preferences. Try opening only one app at a time in the original user account to determine which app is preventing sleep. If you isolate the issue to a particular app or login item, check its documentation, or contact the developer of that software for more information.

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.

    Cheers,

    Sterling

Did try some of those steps, but i found what caused my problem. and the answer is SPOTIFY. when i quit it and let my computer fall a sleep it works as it should.

    But why?

I've got the same problem. And you're right its Spotify!!!

Are there any settings that could be causing this?

    Hi All,

Exact same issue on my MBPr 15''. The 10.9.5 update did not solve it indeed.

No Adobe Creative Cloud Manager installed, and removing Spotify didn't make it any better either (both apps have been identified as source of the issue by some).

I have OSX Yosemite beta 3 installed on a MacBook Air and haven't noticed any issue on that machine so far, neither had I had it when Mavericks was installed.

    Cheers,

    Paolo

    Thanks!

Confirmed. I have the same problem, which is rectified by quitting spotify.

Thanks for troubleshooting this.  Am experiencing the same exact issue on a Brand new Mid-2014 15" MBP running Yosemite.  I am able to confirm that the issue is caused by Spotify

I am experiencing the issue as well on a brand new 2014 13" MBA running Yosemite. I can confirm that the issue is gone after completely uninstalling Spotify (using their guide provided to re-istall it). Also I'd say that this issue was nonexistent while using Spotify on Mavericks but am not 100% sure.

I have confirmed that this works. I followed the instructions here https://discussions.apple.com/message/27784393?ac_cid=tw123456#27784393 to remove Spotify and then I reinstalled it. Thanks belisari0!

For me It was the creative Cloud at the top of the menu bar. As soon as it is closed the mac returns from sleep normally.
