Q: iPhone5 pairing with iMac OSx 10.6

Can anyone tell me how to pair my iphone5 with my imac OSx 10.6; the bluetooth facility doesn't appear to link?

iMac, Mac OS X (10.6.8)

pair for what purpose?
you can't sync over bluetooth
this is what ios support in tterms of bluetooth

Other than Internet tethering, pairing is not supported.
