My Mac wont let me save document (or image) as I want. For exemple, I'm using Pixelmator and I want to save the file as .png but it won't let me. Same for .jpeg or .gift etc. Thanks !
I dont know if it was to do that I recently upgraded my operating system...

I was able to rename my file to have the desired extension from the terminal:
mv myfile.old myfile.new
MacOS, like most Apple products, is a patronising piece of junk.
You can reformat images from PNG to JPEG using Preview located in your Applications folder. (Does not reformat to gif).
Launch Preview. From the menu bar click File > Open. Navigate to the document then click Open.
Now go to the Preview menu bar, clic File > Export
Seect JPEG from the Format pop up menu the click Save.
